Housing First is an extension of our Homeless Family Services program and is designed to stabilize housing for families with children using the Housing First Model. This program specifically serves families who are experiencing behavioral health challenges and provides supportive services that are tailored to the specific needs of each family. Program participants DO NOT have to be in treatment to receive services.

Services

  • Housing case management and peer support.
  • Connection to services that support behavioral health needs.
  • Limited financial assistance to increase stability within the household.
    • For example: Application fees, safety items, household products, etc.

Eligibility Requirements
All must apply. This is not a rental assistance program.

  • Living in Thurston County and experiencing homelessness or unstable housing (difficulty maintaining housing).
  • Have children under the age of 18, or prenatal, in the household and/or are working toward reunification with their children.
  • At least one person in the household has a professionally diagnosed or self-identified behavioral health challenge.
  • Not enrolled in a Foundational Community Supports Program (FCS) through Medicaid.
  • Have a household income at or below 50% AMI for Thurston County.
