Pear Blossom Place: A Family Support Community is the region’s largest 24/7 family shelter. In addition to 36 year round shelter beds, with an open ended stay, there are seven permanent supportive apartments on site. Our shelter includes six shelter rooms with bunk beds, private bathrooms, and small kitchens with cook top stoves. There are also onsite children’s play areas (indoor and outdoor), a community living room, laundry facilities, and 24/hour onsite support from staff and volunteers.
Pear Blossom Place serves families with children under age of 18, as well as pregnant women. Our organization is flexible to serving ALL families, regardless of family composition. The first step to accessing shelter at PBP is to meet with a staff person to complete a Coordinated Entry intake and assessment. We place families into our shelter from our master list and a shelter bed may not be available immediately. Our staff will work with you to identify other options in if space is not immediately available for your family at shelter.
If you are a family experiencing homelessness and in need of shelter and housing, please call 360-754-9297x200 to connect with a staff person who can offer support via phone.
After hours you may call Thurston County’s Coordinated Entry Shelter & Housing Hotline for up-to-date shelter information at 1-844-628-7343.
Permanent supportive housing units: In addition to the rooms in our shelter, we have seven permanent supportive housing units onsite at Pear Blossom Place. These apartments serve formerly homeless families and units are filled directly from the Family Master List. When we have open units, we will post more information about eligibility and application requirements on this site, on our Facebook page, and throughout the Thurston County Community.
